Our Story
3 Strands is a fee based nonprofit organization founded in memory of our son Trey. After spending 5 years seeking to provide him help through licensed counselors, psychologists and psychiatrists, Trey tragically ended his life in July of 2020. Brad and Dee Long understand first-hand the difficulties that many face and seek to be a resource to come alongside and help others navigate through life.
With over 30 years of practical life and ministry experience meeting people at their most difficult and thrilling moments, 3 Strands uses that experience to help people regardless of age, background, or religious preference deal with struggles and complex circumstances, the grief of losing loved ones, as well as motivating, training, encouraging, and celebrating with them during their most special occasions.
Brad is not a licensed medical counselor. However, should a client request one or if the need is determined during the course of our services, 3 Strands has resources available to refer the client to an organization that can further assist them.
Brad’s Biography
Brad Long has served in full-time vocational ministry for over 30 years. Earning a degree in Elementary Education, he began his career as a teacher and coach. He then spent 20 years working for the Indiana Fellowship of Christian Athletes. During his tenure with FCA, Brad spoke to numerous teams, organizations and churches. He has done chapel services for the Indianapolis Colts, Houston Texans, Las Vegas Raiders, University of Notre Dame, Indiana University, Boston College, Eastern Michigan University and numerous other teams. Brad has spoken at a number of youth events, camps, men’s ministries and served as an Emcee for banquets, marriage retreats and other events. Brad served as the chaplain for the Plainfield Police Department for approximately 10 years. He is currently the Senior Pastor at Camby Community Church along with being the founder and President of a nonprofit called “3 Strands” based out of Plainfield, Indiana that provides pastoral counseling, weddings, funerals, public speaking and consulting from a Biblical perspective. He resides in Plainfield with his wife Dee and daughter Lindee and also has 3 adult sons, Tyler, Trevor and Trey.
